Hogwarts Retaken (Closed) « Thread Started on Aug 15, 2009, 9:23am »
March 30th, 1983 10:00 PM Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Night had already settled on the school long after many of the students inside were asleep. A curfew, which had been set for the muggle children, had been set to three hours before sundown, and many of the remaining students were so drained from a mixture of their studies and fear of receiving an owl about the disappearance of their families that they simply crashed on their beds in hopes their dreams would whisk them away to a happier place. Faculty was scattered about the school, walking about, making sure no student was out of bed, and that there was nothing amiss, except for one.
Long ago Anna Anton had gained the trust of those closer to the Dark Lord and had earned herself the position of school nurse. She was a friendly woman, kind to the children when she could be, and as many of the faculty preferred to keep to themselves she risked little of giving away her true disposition and goals. It was she who was walking around one of the side wings, her dark eyes shifting in the dim light of her lit wand, her ears straining to hear if any of the other faculty members were near, waiting for a quiet whistle of a song bird.
When she heard it, she rushed to the small entrance, waving away the charms that kept out intruders, and pulled the door open. Standing in the darkness was a rather large group of ragged looking people.
"Are you James and Sirius?" she whispered, her eyes continuing to look for any signs of another professor. Two of the men in front nodded. With a relieved smile she stepped aside and let the small army enter the school. The retaking of Hogwarts was beginning.
In the Dimidium and Castus dormities there was movement. Several of the older students, those loyal to Dumbledore, to their families, and to the freedom and peace of the country were aware of the entrance of Order of the Pheonix. Knowing their families were in safe places, out of harms way, they joined in the battle. Everyone moved quickly and silently. No one whispered, wondering where they were going or what they were doing. All plans had been solidified long ago, and everyone was sure of their parts. Leading the way for one of the groups Castus students was seventh year and Head boy, Malachi Pheonicis. After the death of his father Malachi had changed for the better. He, like many others, was tired of living in fear day after day, stepping on eggshells, making sure he and his remaining family did nothing to upset the Dark Lord which would equal their deaths. When the Order had made contact, he had jumped at the chance to join their cause. After proving himself loyal to their cause and worthy of leading one of the four Castus teams they had told him of the plan.
His group now walked through the dark halls of the school, their wands unlit as they listened for their prey. Malachi motioned for the team to stop as he strained his eyes and ears to listen. Sitting in the sill of the window at the end of the hall, his back to them, was a professor. Malachi motioned for the team to split up. He and two other students hid behind a statue, while the remaining three pulled from their robes some books and lit their wands. They walked casually down the hall, talking as if nothing in the world was the matter. The Professor, a tall, thick man, stood and watched the students approach. When they were ten feet from him one of the girls in the group stopped and smiled up at him.
"Oh Professor Macimmick! We didn't see you there," she said pleasantly.
He studied the trio for a moment, then ventured to ask, "What are you all doing down here?"
"Oh, we were on our way to the library," another girl replied.
"Well the library is closed."
"This early?"
"Bollux," said the first girl. With a sigh she thanked the professor. He clearly was not as stupid as he looked for his eyes shifted around the dark hall, making it evident that something was making him uneasy.
"Why don't I walk the three of you back to your House," he offered. Everyone in the group smiled, including those in the shadows. Macimmick was known for being more chivalrous with the female students, especially those from the pure blood house, which is why Malachi had the team walking down the hall made up of three fifth and sixth year girls. The girls thanked him and they all turned and started making their way to the Castus House. The three girls passed the statue without glancing once at it, they only continued their discussion from before, but as Macimmick passed a bright bolt of red shot out from behind the statue, striking the unsuspecting professor. He fell to the ground with a dull thud.
"Now," instructed Malachi, "we paralyze him, make him invisible and move on to the next target." His team nodded and they began their work.
Around the school there were plans, similar in nature, occuring. Small teams of students would lure professors into traps and incapacitate them. All of them put them into hiding places and left inconspicuous markers by the bodies for the Order members to find later. The next major part of the plan was removing all the students from the school before the Death Eaters that kept watch over the school realized something was amiss, this way they would be safe from any harm. This part of the plan did not work out so well.
One of the Dimidium teams was caught by a small Death Eater team as they were finishing up one of the professors. One of the Order teams was near by, and one of the more inexperienced members, for fear the Death Eaters would kill the children, acting before thinking. A firefight broke out between them, not only alerting the rest of the Death Eaters and remaining professors as to what was happening, but also risking the lives of the Dimidium students. An Order member was able to get them away safe, but not before one of them had been struck by a Death Eater killing curse.
Alarms were going off, Death Eaters and professors were running towards the fight. Some were caught in smaller fights when they stumbled upon another group from the Order. A few professors who were attempting to protect the Castus house were halt just outside the door. The fight that erupted awoke the remaining students and sent all of them spiraling into panic.
Outside the Immunda House there was only one guard, meant to keep the students from wandering out rather than for their safety, and he had been drawn away by a fight just a floor below. Inside the house, students were frightened and unsure of what to do. Two students, Veronica King and Hannah Smyth, tried to keep everyone calm, but both were afraid themselves. Everyone screamed when Three men and a woman came running through the door. The four of them managed to silence the group and tell them they were hear to liberate them. They would all be taken to safe houses spread throughout the country. Relief was only present in their minds for a few moments before fear for their family and friends remaining in the camp emerged. The Order members calmed them and told them at this very moment a large team of witches and wizards was freeing the Muggle Imprisonment camp, taking all the families to safe houses as well. With such reassurances, the few students that were in the Immunda house followed two of the Order members down a secret passage that had been used during the attack years ago. When those students were out, the Orders' concerns fell with the remaining students.
Several hours before the dawn was breaking over the horizen, the Order had removed all of the Death Eaters from the grounds, and gotten many of the students into safe houses. Some students were returned home, they not being in danger of angering the Dark Lord personally. And as the sun stretched over the dewey lands of the U.K. Hogwarts was in control of the Order, and the muggle camp was completely empty except for the guards still loyal to the Dark Lord.
The revolution is beginning.
