General Rules and Information You must read all of these rules. Believe me, we'll know if you don't.
We are an Original Character based website: Although we do have some canon characters. A list is provided in the Canon Characters forum.
We are rated R: The Dark Lord rules Europe and the Death Eaters have set up multiple prison around the country. In some of these camps people are being tortured and experimented on. If your thread contains torture you must label the thread properly.
Ex) Subject: Dark Cell (R: Torture)
You must be 16 to play: This is mostly due to the fact that we are an advance RPG, rather than our rating. This being said, if you are a beginner to the RPG world we don't recommend our site. We like to keep things face paced and it may be difficult to keep up with what is happening. After a few months experience of play on another board come back and try us.

This website takes place during the 1980s: Yes the Three Muskateers have been born, however, they aren't quite playable yet.
No God-modding/ Power playing: Hands off other people's characters. You may only control your own character unless another player, or admin., specifically gives you permission to play their character. You also may not seriously injure/kill a character unless you have consent of the admins and the owner of the character you are going to mutilate/destroy/whatever... Along with this, goes the fact that as magical as your character is, he or she is not invincible. If someone throws a jinx at them, there is a very big chance that the jinx will hit.
No strange/mix-blooded creatures: I know some of you want to have a half vampire, or a siren, or someone who looks like they stepped out of a sci-fi movie, but the students are human and their parents should only mate with other humans. This rule is in place so we don't have deadly and powerful students running around killing each other. Remus is an exception (as would have been Hagrid). If you really want a half-breed running around then you MUST clear it with an Admin.
Sex is allowed with a few conditions: We are not an erotic site, therefore, you will not have explicit sex scenes. When your characters finally get to those moments the lead to, i.e. beyond passionate snogging, you must “fade out.” There are various ways you can do this:
1. Literally say fade out. 2. Just end the thread. 3. Post again with the couple waking up or having finished up.
Also, and there is no questioning this, your character must be older than 16 and CANNOT have an intimate relationship with a professor. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
Cursing is allowed: the only forbidden curse word is f*ck. Sorry folks, we just don’t like the word.
Be courteous to other role-players: Respect what they do (unless it's something naughty!) This includes the admins. Also remember that this is a RPG. If one character yells and scolds yours, please don't take it personally, some characters are just mean like that. If you feel that the attack is personal, take it up with the attacker first. Perhaps the post was misread. Do not come running to us unless you feel that things cannot be worked out. If you feel the attack is an admin, don't worry, we play by the same rules, and we are very nice people. We won't ban you for it. We promise .
No admin jumping: This means when you ask an admin something and they say no, then you go to another to get another opinion. This gets rather annoying, as we admins have more to do than listen to you rant and rave about how we disapproved your idea.
Racism is a no-no: Out of character racism is a way to get yourself banned quickly. No crap about people with different skin, race, religion, beliefs, whatever. We're all equal and if you can't agree with that, you don't belong here. This can be done IC but only to a limited amount and with the permission of an admin (except for muggle-bashing). Now, we're not saying that your character could be a terrorist, but they are permitted to look down upon anybody who isn't a pure blood.
Absences: We understand things can become rather hectic, especially now that schools have started, and that it will become rather hard to get to the site to check the posts out; however, to be respectful to everyone here, if you are going to be gone for more than 2 days please leave a message saying how long you will be gone (a reason is not required).
Missing Characters and Players (AKA Posting): The reason you fill out an application is because you are interested in playing a character on our website. Our page is not a place where you can simply apply, be accepted and do nothing. If you're character is accepted we expect you to post. You have to post at least twice a week to be considered active.
If you do not post for over a week without informing us your character will be be moved to probation. Your application will remain there until you return and give us a reason for your absence and remain posting once more. If you fail to do either of these after two weeks we will delet your character, and you will have to reapply. Believe me, we will not hesitate to put your character in the trashcan.
How the time passes: You'll see the appropriate months marked in the Calendar box on the sidebar. Obviously, this is the time taking place on the site. Please make sure that you mark the date and time in your post so others may know when, in our calendar your thread is taking place.
Signatures and Avatars: please keep signatures at or below 550 X 220, nothing larger than that. As for avatars, their MAXIMUM width is 100 pixels. We're a bit more lenient on the length, but please don't go any longer than 150 pixels. If you go beyond these we will resize them for you, no ifs ands or buts about it. You can go a little longer, but not by much. Also, no switching your character representative. After a while people become used to a certain image for a character, plus it is unrealistic for a person to under go a major appearance change without lots of surgery and time. The only exception to this no-changing avatar rule is if you start off using a person who is much younger and their are no older pictures of them.
Character Limitation: Since this board goes all the way through the year members can find it hard to post. It becomes even more of a trial when you have a ton of characters to role play. So, to make it easier on yourself and others, please limit your characters to four or five. We won't accept anymore characters from you after you've reached that limit. One one canon per player maximum, for a while at least (more information in Application Rules). Only take the maximum amount of characters if you can handle it.
