Most students will be getting their wands from Olivanders’. Olivanders is a world renowned wand maker. He remembers every wand he’s ever made along with who the wand was sold to.

If you would like your student to be from another part of the world, say they're a transfer student, and they got their wand from some other wand maker, please inform the admins before you apply for the character.

List of Wand Cores
Phoenix Feather – Very Magical.
Dragon Heartstring – Hexes are a specialty of this core.
Unicorn Tail – Best for the pure of heart.
Leprechaun Hair – Somewhat temperamental to Non-Irish.
Demiguise Hair – Only the best for Transfiguration.
Hippogriff Talon – Excellent for Charm Work.
Runespoor Fang – Best for those who deal with Dark Magic.
Hair from the Mane of a Kelpie – Superb for all spells.
Chimaera Scale – Very rare, yet very powerful.
Ashwinder Ash – Casts the best protection charms.

Length
The length of the wands can differ very much from wizard to wizard. There is no exact perfect size for a wand, but they usually vary from 6 to 16 inches.

If you would like your character to have another core besides the ones listed here, please take it up with an admin first. Basically, we don't want to see any Veela hair unless your character is part-Veela. Let me say this again, please do not deviate from this list without talking to an admin first! Thanks guys.
